All the documentation seemed to state that it was possible to let MLDX control the rig, JT-Bridge be the intermediary, and WSJT-X to see the changes and PTT. So I stumbled across this post because I too was trying to make this work.
RUMLOGNG VS MACLOGGERDX UPDATE
With the new DXpedition FT8 mode, it seems that split mode (either real dual VFO or 'fake it' mode) is preferred, so during the recent on-air test I experimented with letting WSJT-X handle the rig - it worked fine, but I had to be sure to update MacLoggerDX when I switched bands. That way the previous decode gets reported as the previous band and the new sequence gets decoded and reported on the new band. As for WSJT-X, I follow this procedure when changing bands to make sure reporting to pskreporter is accurate (I'm told that reporting may be suppressed on band change, but I've not verified that):ġ) Wait until a transmission sequence is over and switch freqs on the rig (memory up/down)Ģ) Wait for the decode of the previous sequence to happenģ) Change WSJT-X's idea of the freq in the pulldown box I have the JT65 and FT8 freqs in memories on my rig, so I just memory up/down on the rig itself and MacLoggerDX will pick up the changes (I want the log to be correct!). My personal preference is to let MacLoggerDX run the rig. r/spaceweather - Weather In SPACE!!! /r/WSJTX - Weak Signal Modes! r/parksontheair/ - POTA (Parks On The Air) r/amateursatellites/ - Satellite weather RX r/mursradio/ - related to the Multi-Use Radio Service in the USA.
